Tomkat Wedding Watch: Is It Already a Done Deal?

Late Wednesday, Rome time (which would be early Wednesday, U.S. time), Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and the reclusive Suri, were seen entering City Hall.  This has caused speculation: 

Did The Cruise-ster already legally make his amazing woman Mrs. Cruise?  Did it happen without pomp?  Without circumstance?  Without her family, his two older kids, the vaunted Hollywood A-List that everyone keeps saying is coming?  Truly, was the only witness to this most momumentus event a 7 month old?

In other wedding news, as we all know by now, Oprah Winfrey is not on the guest list (which is like right up there with not inviting God!!!), but guess who is?  Well, if you listen to Page Six, that would be Brooke "my kingdom for a Paxil" Shields.  Could this be true?  In what universe, other than a Hollywood stage production, does this make sense? 

Ah, perhaps I just answered my own question.
